Runtarantantan Dares You to Shock Everyone through Virtual Races

If you are a runner here in Metro Manila or nearby provinces, you have probably joined a run organized by one of the more popular running event organizers, Runtarantantan.

What sets them apart is the happy vibe for every event. Before gunstart, you get greeted by Mr. Runtarantantan himself, Bearwin Meily. He mixes the positive vibe of motivation, inspiration, and of course, some mood-lightening quips to release tension from the runners at the starting line. The same positive energy is maintained at the activity area at the finish line, with his guest performers and some other gimmicks depending on his creatively-themed event.

We have had a chance to meet up with Bearwin this past month and I am personally surprised to see how very similar his vision is, with that of us, VirtualRacePH runners.

He was one of the first organizers to give out finsher’s shirt and medals to lower category finishers. I remember when I started running around 2010, only 21k runners receive a medal. Of course, this was met with a lot of resistance from some runners and organizers.

“It desecrates the idea of giving out medals to those deserving of it.” Most would say back then. But, then, how do we define who is deserving? Here is Mr. Meily’s response:

“Kapag nagsign-up ka sa race, gumising ka ng alas-kwatro o alas-singko, magtali ng sapatos at tumakbo para magtrain for that race or fun run, winner ka na.” In essence, it is the commitment and effort that one gives that makes one a winner in his/her own right.

Runtarantantan x VirtualRacePH, pushing you to start the fitness commitment right now!

Of course, a lot of us VirtualRacePH runners agree. It personifies one of our objectives, to MOTIVATE runners or non-runners to push themselves and commit to a goal. As one of Runtarantantan’s post in social media reads: “Hindi ka papayat, bibilis, at lalakas sa isang fun run lang.” We all agree right? We need a commitment.

Thus, the event COMMIT TO BE FIT is born. Runtarantantan’s first Virtual Race event that aims to make people (runners or non-runners alike) commit to a 32-day goal to be healthier, faster, and stronger.

Register now and shock everyone! Commit to your goal and make it happen!
